Debra Prins

Debra Prins is the secretary of the non-profit BEECIN board. Debra grew up on a farm west of Primghar, IA. Attended Buena Vista College and graduated with a BA in Business. Currently living in Hartley, and is married to Steve Prins a local business owner (Prins Plumbing and Heating). Steve and Debra have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Debra is currently employed at Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital & Clinics in Primghar, Paullina, Sutherland, and Hartley. Plus she is a bookkeeper for Steve’s business. Debra also serves on the Sanford Home Health and Hospice Community Advisory Board.

She recently retired as president, but is still on the board.

Arlene Roemmich

Graduated from Sheldon High School in 1954, Northwestern Junior College in 1956.  Arlene married Willie Roemmich in 1947 and has 2 children, Kevin and Julie.  She taught in Sutherland, IA until 1963.  Her husband, Willie was an elementary principal until his untimely death in 1981.  Arlene returned to college, taking evening classes from Buena Vista and returned to teaching at Clay Central Everly until her retirement in 2000.  Since her retirement, Arlene has traveled to Nigeria on a mission trip, and has been to Europe and New Zealand.  Arlene has visited most of the 50 states, and has been on a number of mission trips.  Arlene is active in Sutherland Methodist Church, volunteers in hospice and other areas in the community, in addition to her volunteer work at the Prairie Heritage Center.

Marlene Heerde

Hi I’m Marlene Heerde, married to Gary for 44 years.  We have three grown children, six grandchildren and always adding great grandchildren.  We live on an acreage west of Sheldon where we love and enjoy taking care of our miniature animals.  I have owned Touch Of Hope a Christian gift and book store for the last 8 1/2 years and enjoy going to work everyday.  God has blessed us in so many ways and we are very thankful for that.

Jim Thompson

I am Jim Thompson from Primghar, IA.  I served 4 years in the USMC (Vietnam Veteran).  I was employed for 5 years by the City Of Primghar as Lineman.  I was employed for 34 years as Journeyman Lineman with North West REC. I served as Mayor of Primghar for 24 years. I am currently serving as a Board Member for Beecin, and The Community Agency ( local phone, internet, cable TV provider). I am a former Volunteer Fireman, O’Brien County Kinship Board Member, and Primghar Jaycee.  I am married. My wife Joan and I have 6 children and 7 grandchildren.  I am a lifelong resident of Primghar. I am a member of The United Church of Primghar and serve on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee.
