Arlene Roemmich
Graduated from Sheldon High School in 1954, Northwestern Junior College in 1956. Arlene married Willie Roemmich in 1947 and has 2 children, Kevin and Julie. She taught in Sutherland, IA until 1963. Her husband, Willie was an elementary principal until his untimely death in 1981. Arlene returned to college, taking evening classes from Buena Vista and returned to teaching at Clay Central Everly until her retirement in 2000. Since her retirement, Arlene has traveled to Nigeria on a mission trip, and has been to Europe and New Zealand. Arlene has visited most of the 50 states, and has been on a number of mission trips. Arlene is active in Sutherland Methodist Church, volunteers in hospice and other areas in the community, in addition to her volunteer work at the Prairie Heritage Center.
